Bucktown Press Release

StudioChris to Launch Bucktown Poster with Party at Bucktown Pub

Chicago, Ill., April 11, 2012

Chicago artist Chris Gorz, known as StudioChris, will celebrate the launch of his new Bucktown Chicago neighborhood poster on Sunday, April 15, from 2-5 p.m., at the Bucktown Pub, 1658 Cortland Street.

“We love to support local artists and are thrilled to see Bucktown added to StudioChris's Chicago neighborhood poster series, said Piper Gorsuch of the Bucktown Pub.”

The eighth poster in the popular series features an iconic illustration of a male goat, or buck. Tradition has it that early settlers in the area raised goats and they were everywhere, thus the fitting name, Bucktown.

"The Bucktown Pub is the perfect spot to hold the launch party. It's a great blend of historic and hip," said Gorz.

Everyone's welcome to come out and meet the artist, and if you don't have your own Bucktown poster yet, he'll have signed copies on hand, along with all the other neighborhoods.

The series includes Andersonville, Bucktown, Edgewater, Lakeview, Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, Rogers Park and Uptown. The posters are screen printed on recycled paper and are also available at www.studiochris.com and in boutique shops around Chicago.
